Local Matters has friends, donors and community partners, all of whom make it possible for us to achieve our mission of making local, healthy, sustainably grown food equally accessible to everyone.
Every dollar given to Local Matters helps, and here’s how:
We’re teaching our Food is Elementary curriculum in 28 classes reaching over 1000 students, parents and teachers each week.
In season, the Veggie Van, a staple in our Farm to Fork program, visits over 20 inner-city neighborhoods throughout Central Ohio. During each trip, underserved community residents have access to the freshest produce.We are teaching the parents and caregivers of our children how to cook using the Food is Elementary curriculum as a base
We are creating partnerships with other community organizations to better ensure positive, measurable outcomes and utilize everyone’s dollar more efficiently.
With our partner, The Greener Grocer, we are creating market opportunities for our local farmers and educating our community about the importance of supporting a local food system.
