Avery Blanton

Avery’s interest in food began when he was in his early 20s and began to cook for himself. He then moved to New York City to learn to cook professionally, after which he moved to Portland, Oregon where his appreciation for locally sourced food and community involvement flourished.  He spent much of his time organizing friends and family members to cook for unhoused members of the community on a personal volunteer basis. This led to pursuing work with Local Matters after returning to Ohio.

In his free time, he likes to ride his bike, spend time with his family and friends and play video games.
