Marlee Wilson
Food Educator
Marlee is a Columbus, Ohio native and a graduate of Kent State University. She has a Bachelors in Middle Childhood Education, with concentrations in ELA and Science. From a young age, she has been passionate about working with children, and was inspired by her 5th grade teacher to later pursue a career in education. She has spent many years working with children through summer camps, daycare programs, and in the classroom. Marlee is also an Americorps alum; she worked with students in under-resourced schools to help improve test scores and foster positive relationships while mentoring students that look just like her to have confidence in themselves and their academic abilities!
Food has always been Marlee’s first love language as she understands the importance of healthy eating, not only for our mental and physical health, but the impact it has in bringing diverse groups of people together. As a Food Educator, Marlee strives to uphold the mission and values of Local Matters everyday.
When Marlee is not at work, you can catch her at the gym working out, in the kitchen trying out new recipes, or out and about simply exploring different creative outlets!
