Tom Miller

Tom is thrilled to return to Columbus to serve as Communications and Advocacy Manager at Local Matters. He first fell in love with agricultural policy and food system work as a Public Affairs student at The Ohio State University, and he furthered his understanding of the connections between people, food access, and health as a Policy Intern at The Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association. He has a deep appreciation for hands-on education and advocacy where those who learn can take knowledge and run with it. His work focuses on the strength of shared goals and outcomes that lead to a better quality of life for everyone. As Communications Manager at his hometown climbing gym near Cleveland, he spent the last few years fostering a tightly-knit community and building programs that alleviate barriers to the sport he loves; now, he's ready to get back to work pursuing food justice.

In his free time, he likes climbing, reading, baking, and amateur woodworking (he’s got the basic birdhouse down pat).
