We enjoyed our time at The Mercury Diner this spring so much that we’re going back for seconds! Join Local Matters for the Harvest Cookout, a casual happy hour fundraiser to celebrate the transition from summer to fall and sample a trio of sliders, sides, and sweets from the Ro’s Kitchen team, the Veggie Van team, and the Education team. We’ll be there from 6pm – 8pm on Friday, September 26th. This event is made possible in part by generous sponsorship by BMI Federal Credit Union.

Can’t make it? All contributions for this event count toward our goal of funding food education programs that equip Central Ohio students with long-lasting knowledge about nutritious, healthy food and how to prepare it for themselves and their families.

• The Education Team is bringing a sausage, egg, and cheese on a waffle with a drizzle of hot agave. Paired with a hashbrown, pepper jam, and candied turkey bacon.⁠
• The Ro’s Kitchen Team is bringing a Vegan Satay PB&J Bean Burger. Paired with veggie skewers and coconut rice pudding.⁠
• The Veggie Van Team is bringing a classic chicken burger with bleu cheese, caramelized onions, and a balsamic aioli. Paired with sweet potato fries and a German chocolate brownie.⁠
